Dill

Dill is an annual plant indigenous to the Mediterranean region, southern Russia, but now widely cultivated in North & South America, as well as Europe. This aromatic spice is an old-fashioned remedy for relieving stomachaches and indigestion.

While Dill Seed is popularly used as a pickling spice for dill pickles, in traditional herbal medicine it's primarily used for digestive complaints. Reportedly, the name dill comes from a Norse word meaning "to lull", apparently referring to the
herb's ability to lull or soothe digestive upsets. In other applications, Dill Seeds are also chewed as a breath freshener, and can be made into a sachet and placed into a pillow to help lull you to sleep.

Common use:
Indigestion; gas; stomachaches; occasional acid indigestion; hiccups; bad breath; occasional sleeplessness.
