Heartsease

The beautiful Wild Pansy can be found growing across Europe, parts of Asia and North America. Classic herbal guides cite its beneficial use, both externally & internally, for relieving skin eruptions such as acne and eczema.

The benefits of Pansy were reportedly written about by the ancient Greek physicians, Hippocrates and Dioscorides. Even the 17th century herbalist, Nicholas Culpeper noted that the herb is a "remedy for…scabs and the itch." Today, some contemporary
herbalists still advocate either an infusion or an ointment of the herb for skin inflammation and the like. Pansy was also traditionally used as a blood purifier; for relieving some respiratory complaints, and as a mild laxative.
