Indian Physic

In folk medicine, Indian Physic was used whenever a safe & reliable emetic was required. The driedroot was also used for dyspepsia and other digestive disorders, constipation and dropsy. One reference guide on Native American herbal medicine also notes that Indian Physic was very popular with the North American Indians for amenorrhea (absence orsuppression of menstrual flow), rheumatism and intermittent fever.
