Blue Mallow is a mucilaginous herb, that is, it coats & soothes irritated tissue. Consequently, it is often used to make a soothing tea for coughs, hoarseness, and any inflammation or irritation of the respiratory passages.


Blue Mallow's ability to soothe & protect irritated mucous membranes, also makes it an excellent aid as a poultice or bath additive for wounds, boils, sores, and other inflammatory skin conditions. It can also be used as a substitute for Marshmallow.
COMMON NAMES: Malva Flowers, Low Mallow, Blue Mallow.
