Paprika

This culinary spice with its vivid bright red color is a member of the Capsicum species, which includes Cayenne and Chile peppers- Paprika though, is a milder variety. Its varying pungency &flavor is compatible in both mild and spicy dishes.

Paprika lends its flavor to stews and savory dishes. In fact, it is said to be a popular spice, especially in Hungary where it is included in that country's national dish, goulash. Medicinally, like most spices, Paprika is also used as a traditional digestive aid that improves the secretions of stomach acids and helps normalize the digestive system.

Common use: Culinary spice; indigestion, gas; motion sickness.
