Quassia Chips

Quassia is an evergreen that is native to the Caribbean and tropical America. It is used in various South American cultures to relieve digestive complaints, and to expel intestinal parasites.

Quassia reportedly got its name from a native Guyanan healer who introduced Europeans to the health benefits of the tree. It is also known by the common name, Bitterwood, as this bitter tonic is used to stimulate the digestive system and strengthen the
stomach. Quassia is also said to curb the appetite for alcohol.
COMMON NAMES: Bitter Wood, Bitter Ash, Picrasma excelsa.
