Red Saunders Wood

Red Sandalwood is the heartwood of the Pterocarpus santalinus, a tree native of South India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. It's recorded in traditional Ayurvedic texts for supporting liver & gallbladder health, strengthening stomach functions, and more.

In other applications, Red Sandalwood yields a vibrant reddish-scarlet color, which is valued as a natural dye. It's also a favorite in dried potpourri and incense blends. NOTE: This variety of Sandalwood is not to be confused with the more aromatic
Sandalwood (Santalum album). COMMON NAMES: Red Sanders, Red Saunders, Rubywood, Sappan, Rakta Chandana.
