Savory

Summer Savory is indigenous to the Mediterranean countries but is now widely cultivated as a kitchen herb. This culinary spice, which commonly complements bean dishes, is a pleasing remedy for indigestion, gas, and other gastrointestinal complaints.

Outside the kitchen- or perhaps because of what's cooking inside the kitchen- Summer Savory is a valued digestive aid, sharing similar stomach-soothing properties of other culinary herbs. A tea is also said to help cleanse the system,
and to improve the complexion. In it's most popular application though, Summer Savory, also known as Bean Herb in Germany, lends its sharp almost peppery flavor to bean dishes and soups, to flavor sauces, or simply as a substitute for pepper.

Common use:
Indigestion, improves digestion; gas; nausea; cramps; sore throat (gargle); culinary spice (used both finely chopped or dried).
