Toad Flax

Toad Flax herb is a perennial plant commonly found in Europe and the southwestern United States. In classic herbal guides, it is listed as a powerful diuretic was said to be a traditional aid for urinary tract health.


Yellow Toad Flax was at one time considered to be a blood purifier and was also used as a folk remedy for jaundice, skin problems and as a liver tonic. As far as the herb's many colorful names, there are quite a few theories. For example, its flowers
are thought to resemble little toads, hence Toad Flax; and as for the other common name Butter & Eggs, it reportedly gained that moniker due to the plant's mixture of light yellow & orange flowers.
